All youth diagnosed as HIV-positive are linked to care either at University of Miami’s Special Adolescent Clinic (SAC) or other community specialty health care providers who are comfortable seeing young people. Both ACTS and SAC are housed in the same building, and staff from both programs work under the same medical director. ACTS counselors work with the social work team and medical staff on transitioning a newly diagnosed patient to SAC. Comprehensive and confidential health care and case management are available.
We house Florida Department of Health’s Children’s Medical Services, which provides children with special health care needs a family-centered, comprehensive, and coordinated system of care. The CMS Plan is designed to serve children under age 21 whose serious or chronic physical or developmental conditions require extensive preventive and ongoing care. More details about the CMS Plan are available on FDOH’s About CMS Plan page. Find out if the CMS Plan is right for you on the Eligibility and Services page, click here.
